Paintball this weekend - Sunday, April 2nd - 3pm

We are playing this Sunday, April 2nd in Dripping Springs. We'll be starting out there at 3pm, so be ready to roll by that time. I am planning on getting out a little early to set-up the chrony and the rest of it.

We had a hell of a time down at Miller Ranch. 11 games in almost non-stop action.

Join-Up - Before It's Too Late

By now, everyone has probably heard of the dangers of Avian Flu, SARS, etc. All of these are bad, but the real danger has been here all along . . . ZOMBIES.

If we learned anything from the Philadelphia zombie outbreak of 1978, we learned that we are unprepared to meet this threat. Politicians, scared of the political fallout from drawing attention to this massive problem, have traditionally looked the other way when times got rough - blaming "looting" or general social unrest when they knew full well the real issue.

There were several incidences of zombie attacks during the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster that were quickly swept under the rug. In fact, one such attack, blamed on a "crazed drug addict" (often used as a LE codeword for zombie), caused a whole area to be quarantined. A little extreme for a junkie looking for a fix. The victim was bitten and within hours turned on her whole family. The story got out from a middle school-aged child who was hiding in the attic at the time of the attack. That child has since been moved to an asylum in New England, near Miskatonic University.

U.S. firm offers 'private armies' for low-intensity conflicts

AMMAN — A leading U.S. security firm has offered to provide forces for any counter-insurgency mission around the world.

J. Cofer Black, vice chairman of Blackwater USA told the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (Sofex-2006), that his company could supply private soldiers to any country. Black, a former U.S. State Department counter-terrorism coordinator, said Blackwater has been marketing the concept of private armies for low-intensity conflicts.

"About a year ago, we realized we could do it," Black said.

Blackwater has been a leading private security firm in Iraq. The company provides thousands of foreign and Iraqi personnel for government and private security missions.

In his presentation in Amman, Jordan, on March 27, Black said Blackwater could supply peace-keeping forces. He said the company was capable of providing a brigade-sized force on alert.

Afternoon Philosophical Rant w/ Michael Dudekoff

Did you ever see a movie called "American Ninja", with the guy that used to throw those little powder balls and would disappear and re-appear in a puff of smoke? I love that stuff! I was convinced for years as a kid that it was possible to do that… :D

I was watching "Braveheart" the other day. I love that movie and I always felt juiced up after watching it, so I went online to find out how much of it was actually true. It seems that the screenwriter took quite a few liberties with the actual story, but the important thing, I guess, is what people "believe" was true, regardless of whether or not any of it ever happened. Know what I mean? Whether it's true or not, it affects what people aspire to be, which seems to be the whole point of everything in the end.

Fiction, or maybe good stories, are a lot more important than truth, I think . . .
